The Dream Journal

Dream Journal

Creating a dream journal can be very powerful. Even adults are encouraged to write down their dreams and goals as a way of helping them to be happy and successful. So there are lots of good reasons to dream BIG! Personally, I think the best reason is because it’s so much fun!

In your dream journal, you can be anyone you want to be, live anywhere and in any way you like, own anything and everything. There are no limits. Later, when you’re a bit older, you might have to consider how realistic your dreams are, but for now just imagine and dream, because sometimes dreams really do come true.

You may not realise it now, but it will be fun to look back on your dreams when you’re a bit older. You dream journal might even come in handy when you’re choosing subjects or courses, deciding where to travel, buying a house or car or choosing a partner… you never know!

Here’s what to do:

  1. Imagine what your life will be like in 20 years.
  2. Think about these things: What have you achieved so far? Where have you travelled? What is your life like? Who are the special people in your life? What do you do for a job? Where do you live? What special things do you own (car, house, spaceship etc)
  3. Find or draw some pictures. Cut out words that describe you in the future. Write down some of your ideas. Put them all into journal or scrapbook. You might like to make a page for each theme and decorate it with drawings, pretty papers and other special items.
  4. Look at your dream journal every now and then to keep your dreams fresh in your mind. This will help you on your journey to making towards making your dreams come true. If your dreams change, make a new page or add to your existing one.
  5. Remember to dream BIG!

I also like this idea of writing your dreams on pieces of paper and putting them in a jar… do you? Found on Pinterest.
