The weather has been truly horrible this week!
As the days get shorter and the weather more miserable, I’m finding it harder and harder to get up early. I’m a bit like a bear in winter – I’d rather hibernate. Perhaps I need a doona day.
I recently found just the thing for THOSE days, when you are tucked up in bed sick, down in the dumps or in need of some time out.
Full of amazing facts, loving thoughts, recipes and stories, plus some great project ideas, including shadow puppet making and crocheting tea cup holders, Tucked In by Meredith Gaston makes a perfect gift for the bed bound, or as a little treat when you’re feeling a bit wintry yourself. The beautiful illustrations are sure to bring a little sunshine to your day, and Meredith’s engaging approach to each subject and gentle humour may even bring a giggle or two.
While I have not yet indulged in my own doona day, a few minutes reading this on a Sunday morning have certainly brightened my mood, ready for the day ahead.
Here’s a quote from the journal keeping section that I particularly love.
“Let your journals become precious pieces of your history; fill them with your energy and love. The world can be in such a rush that it sometimes just doesn’t allow us time to make sense of our thoughts. Keeping a journal is a kind of reclamation; a time for us to honour the fact that we are all sensitive, creative people.”
