Girl Talk helps educate girls

Girl Talk headerChange the world – educate girls.

Way back when I was a promotions rep, I met an interesting couple. Funnily enough I clicked immediately with them, and as the relationship grew, I developed an interest not only in their design business, but in one of their personal passions – education for girls in developing nations.

It started out as a paper donation, giving them a small amount of unsellable, odd-sized board that could be used to print some greeting cards for fund raising, and ended up as a passion – an answer to the world’s myriad problems.

Why?

THIS IS AS BIG AS IT GETS!

If you don’t believe me, go to www.becauseiamagirl.com.au and read the reports. Leading aid organisation, Plan International has done the research. The facts are all there.

Alas, as a small organisation, Leaf can only start small. But as the song goes, “from little things, big things grow”.

We have to start somewhere, so we are donating $1 for every Girl Talk and Kid Stuff themed product sold to go towards educating girls in developing nations. This money will be given to Room to Read’s girls’ scholarship program, which supports girls in developing nations such as Nepal, Cambodia, India and Zambia, finish secondary schooling. For our first year or two, we may only support a few girls, but how fantastic would it be to see our efforts help hundreds or even thousands of girls?

Of such, our dreams are made.

Give a girl a chance by choosing Leaf’s Girl Talk and Kid Stuff products.
